Burning bush (Euonymus alatus) is a species of the family tree Celastraceae, which originated in China, Japan, and Korea. This tree is named Burning bush because its leaves will turn bright red in autumn.

Burning bush including ornamental plants that are popular throughout the subtropical parts of the world. The cultivator Euonymus alatus ‘Compactus’ has been awarded the Award of Garden Merit (AGM) from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).

This tree is considered an invasive species from the forests of eastern North America, but a free sale is prohibited in the states of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Burning bushes can grow into large shrubs as high as 5-6 meters and all parts of the tree are poisonous if consumed by humans. The effect can cause severe discomfort in humans.

Burning bush is widely cultivated because it becomes one of the best-selling ornamental plants and as a complement to an attractive landscape planting for gardens and yard.
